Don't force fit the legacy tech from US in your Indian environment

There won't be another ServiceNow. There will be hundreds of them.

Every week, someone breaks another technological barrier. What was unheard of a month ago is suddenly a demo on your feed, and it feels like magic.

It's natural to get swept up and start imagining a new world built entirely on this tech. Then the hangover wears off. You go back to your day, with all the constraints and legacy systems we've built over decades, and the magic starts to fade.

That's why I now look at every enterprise I meet through one lens: where is this business in its evolution?

A traditional NBFC running on a 4% yield doesn't need the fanciest software. It needs just enough to stay compliant and operate efficiently.

A logistics company that depends on entry-level staff doesn't need tech that requires constantly retraining a high-attrition workforce. But a robotics-powered logistics company needs the best security and ops tech available.

Every business has a balance point, and anyone selling to enterprises should understand where it sits. The goal isn't cheaper tech. It's justified tech.

For too long, Indian enterprises have had two options: US-built software, or a cheaper SaaS clone of it. Either way, they've had to force-fit it into environments it was never designed for. And when the imported tech gets tangled in our reality, the instinct is to reach for the next shiny import.

AI changes that. Every business can now build or buy right-sized software that fits how it actually works and moves its business outcomes.

That's the opportunity. There won't be another ServiceNow or Salesforce. There will be hundreds of vertically focused companies building right-sized software that simply works for their customers.

So don't force-fit legacy US tech into your Indian environment. Instead, build an outcome-driven tech stack that works for your enterprise and gels with your existing systems.
